I especially like these takes, because Jane Austen has made it clear (i.e., in Mansfield Park) that she disapproves of brothers who would not write anything worth reading back home to their families! I think Author Austen's brothers must have been some of her most-anticipated, best-loved correspondents. I think Darcy, as a model of manly manners, would have written wonderful letters to Georgianna, trying to show her his love, entertain her, and encourage her correspondence in return.
