Nice one! Grammarians: What do you call these? Written by jeffrey (5/17/2010 1:11 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Jane Austen Witticism, penned by Lenora

Here is another one. All of Miss Austen's works are full of these. I plead ignorance but there little gems of contrasting feelings are one of her specialties that no other writers is equal to.

"......Miss Bingley's congratulations to her brother on his approaching marriage were all that was affectionate and insincere......"
