Yes, the point of living in a secluded farmhouse was that the "fallen woman" would still be financially supported by her family while living there, and in a sense it would be "kinder" to her not to be subjected to the stares and whispers of those who knew her story. Not the same thing as being left to the streets, IMO. Also, as you say, Maria Bertram's situation and Lydia's were *not* the same. Lydia never had time to be abandoned, her problem was "fixed" by having her marry Wickham, and above all, she was not breaking her marriage vows or helping Wickham break his.
