More thoughts on vanity   Written by Connie (5/11/2010 8:54 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, then you may say whatever you like of me, penned by Stephanie
Are you new?

Wow, what an insight!

In Ch. 43, Lizzy still calls Darcy (to her self) so vain a man. Why does she think him vain? What has he ever done to make her think he values others' opinions of himself or is looking for their approbation? It seems to me he has rather dismissed both of these too readily--that he has been too proud, not only to be vain, but even to be polite or act in a gentlemanlike manner.
