Are you new?

Chapter 47 "Oh! but their removing from the chaise into an hackney coach is such a presumption! And, besides, no traces of them were to be found on the Barnet road."

This had me wondering why it was such a presumption - why it was evidence they had not gone to Scotland. Searching the archives, I found this thread - and Kathleen Glancy linked an interesting site to it.

I thought I would post this in case anyone else might be interested.
