Actually, this line makes me rather admire Mr. B.   Written by Line (5/11/2010 8:52 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mr. Bennet Gets a Clue, penned by BarbaraB
Are you new?

To me, this line is imbued with Mr. Bennet's own realization that something is lacking in him that should be there. I really don't think he is proud of the fact that he will probably soon be much less bothered by his responsibility for this mess. How many people would admit as much, no matter how true it was? Say what you will about Mr. Bennet, he does have an understanding of human nature and of himself - he just doesn't have the will to act on his knowledge.
