Is there a parallel here...? Written by Mary Skater (5/10/2010 8:57 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, I can imagine her bored at times, penned by Nancy Ann

Lady Catherine "notices" Lizzy as being that rarity, someone who will talk back to her without slavish adulation. Earlier in the book, didn't Darcy "notice" Lizzy for much the same reason?
