Are you new?

In this week's chapters we discover that letting Lydia go to Brighton has had the worst possible result, but knowing that it was not a good idea to let her go, and predicting this, are two different things, IMO. Someone here posted that her two sisters knew that no good would come of it on their first reading, but after all, P&P is a novel with a plot to push along, while to Mr. Bennet, his decision would have been made in "real" life!
