No less negliegent   Written by Kathi (5/10/2010 3:36 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mr. Bennet's decision, penned by Karen G
Are you new?

Since I see Mr. Bennet as having been very negliegent as a father, your asserting that this decision is no more negliegent than any of his other decisions is, IMHO, a stronger indictment of Mr. Bennet than you apparently intend it to be.

This decision is, indeed, consistent with almost all Mr. Bennet's other decisions as a father -- he does what causes him the least inconvenience, or the most amusement, without caring about the effect it has on his family.

I do think that the most important distinction between this and his other decisions as a parent is that its consequences could be more catastrophic than those of any other single decision he has ever made, and it is hard to see what good consequences could reasonably be expected.
