I was struck by Lady C's immense ability to read a character & abilities on not only short acquaintance but no acquaintance whatsoever. "I am always glad to get a young person well placed out. Four nieces of Mrs Jenkinson are most delightfully situated through my means; and it was but the other day that I recommended another young person, who was merely accidentally mentioned to me, and the family are quite delighted with her." Certainly, any relative of Mrs Jenkinson, who has so ably managed Anne's education as to make her free of any sort of skills and virtuaally non-verbal should make superb governesses, not to mention the abilities of someone merely accidentally mentioned to LC--I would say the less one knows of LC the more likely they are to be suitable.
