but I think Lady Catherine must have some liking for Elizabeth or enjoyment of her company, since if she didn't why would she try to extend Elizabeth's stay and invite her to come back again? I can't imagine it was Maria's company Lady Catherine wanted, as poor little empty-headed Maria hardly dares speak to her.
