Are you new?

Sometime I'd like to go through P&P and collect all the examples where JA wrote something with a qualifier when I'm convinced she really meant there was no doubt. There is more than one example, I assure you! I'm guessing it was a form of polite expression at the time. (I too am convinced that *Darcy* felt he had not done the right thing in concealing Jane's presence in London from Bingley.)
