and lived in Meryton when alive, but your idea of grandparents is quite possible. Mrs Gardiner is still a young woman - from the ages of her children probably not much more than 30 - and may have a parent or parents yet living. She had passed some of her youth in Derbyshire, presumably with her parents, but they must have moved to London, or near enough to allow her to meet Mr Gardiner. at some point.
