Anticipation   Written by Cheryl (5/2/2010 11:25 p.m.)
Are you new?

"To Pemberley, therefore, they were to go." (ch. 42)

What a brilliant way to end the second volume of the book. We are left with such a sense of suspense, of anticipation. Imagine borrowing Volume II from the circulating library or a friend and having to wait to get your hands on Volume III. That Jane Austen knew her craft and how to leave her audience clamoring for more. ;-)
