He was a tall, heavy-looking young man of five-and-twenty. His air was grave and stately, and his manners were very formal. (Ch. 13)

His principal problems seem to be in his intellect and his character: "not a sensible man", "a mixture of pride and obsequiousness, self-importance and humility"; Elizabeth describes him as "a conceited, pompous, narrow-minded, silly man". We don't know how he behaves in his marital relations.

Col. Fitzwilliam is not handsome, but nobody has problem imagining Elizabeth married to him.
