mr and Mrs Collins   Written by Bridget D (5/1/2010 7:15 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Agree that..., penned by BarbaraB
Are you new?

I cant' see that Mr C has any very genuine feelings for Charlotte.. had she turned out to be a less than very good clerical wife, or failed in flattering Lady C too often,or was less than tactful in hre handling of himself, I think he'd be very cool with her and he'd think that he'd made a mistake in marrying her...

He may think he's in love with her, and that she's in love iwth him, but he has NO idea whatsoever about any genuine feelings...
as fore the poster saying that Charlotte would be happier as a married woman with the prosepct of s&x and offspring, well really? Mr C is not handsome or attractive, he has no idea of making himself agreeable to a woman, I cna't see how such a man would provide any kind of intimate life or how a woman could really prefer it to spinsterhood unless she were desperately poor...
