I always took this line as another example of Elizabeth's (and JA's) humour. IMO, she is jokingly telling Col. Fitzwilliam: "Uh-oh! I've been found out! I was going to try to pass myself off as an honest person here in Hunsford, but now Darcy has exposed me as the hypocrite I really am!" ;-)
