...Mr. Collins does not love Charlotte and I think that your statement that says you expect him to have a fondness for what he thinks is love. hits the hammer on the nail where Mr. Collins is concerned in relation to his feelings for Charlotte. I do think he will develop affection for her and would be very much saddened if she were on her death bed and grieve her passing. He does not understand her manipulation is a great deal for her own sake and not necessarily for his so he sees her as a good wife which I think she is considering how she feels about him.
