someone is winning those lottery tickets---(just not me). I don't see why Charlotte couldn't get a winning hand, so to speak. No, I don't think she will ever love Mr. Collins, certainly not romantically, or even be what I would call happy as I define it. But if two people can enter a marriage in love and it not work out for the rest of their lives, I don't see why it couldn't work out the opposite way. The odds may not be the greatest in her case but I do think Charlotte could manage to be content, especially once she has children to attend to.

Personally, the whole idea grosses me out, even more so because I always picture the P&P2 Mr. Collins. (Ughhh! to the exponent of a thousand). And Charlotte is quite pretty in that version which stretches credulity even more I suppose. P&P3 is more credible when it comes to this matchup if one is going to believe it at all. (Still love P&P2 though!). It's true Charlotte's decision can be disappointing but I've always liked her, for some reason, so perhaps it is just me wanting to see her as having what she would consider a decent life even though...yeah...???? :)
