...should Mrs. Gardiner not see the glaringly obvious mental superiority of Mr. Bennet over Mrs, Bennet, and his clearly and repeatedly stated preference for Lizzy? and Mrs. Bennet's clearly stated disdain for Lizzy?

Really, I doubt that even Mr. Gardiner can miss the difference. Both are described as sensible people, and as such can easily see what's going on in the Bennet family.
