Mr. Bennet a bully or bullied   Written by Aaron (4/28/2010 5:59 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Never been a fan of teasing. Having been the object of, penned by AnnetteJ
Are you new?

I take the opinion that Mr. Bennet's teasing can be a bit much but when you are surrounded by women, the most of whom are silly, would it be him that is considered the bullier? Or is his teasing a way to off set the regaurd of his wife and daughters who treat him with little respect or concern unless they need him for something. Yes, he is the head of the house and a father but would you not feel a bit beat down if you were treated as such? I think that Lizzie and her father are of a similar cut of cloth, his teasing her seems not to hurt her in any way. And the rest of the Bennet women all but ignore it or badger Mr. Bennet into submission.
