Like you earlier, I had something to that affect in my notes, but did not include it in my post. But I have found it interesting to see that Jane and Lizzy were not completely unlike Mrs. Bennet in her tunnel vision and refusal to believe/understand what did not fit into her view of things. However, it can be seen as more than just a familial trait, since many unrelated characters act similarly, as you pointed out.
