Hardly without contempt

Hardly without contempt Written by KatharineW (4/26/2010 11:32 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Contempt for Bingley, penned by Cheryl

I always interpreted this phrase to mean that Lizzy was angry with Bingley---angry enough to almost hold him in contempt.

Is this interpretation based soley on my affection for Bingley or are their any grains of truth in the matter?
