Are you new?

During this GR, I'm especially noticing the times that JA gives her stupid or disagreeable characters (especially female characters) something true to say. Another example that's already been covered is Mary's speech on the difference between pride and vanity.

(One thing I will say about being governess-free, though. The children who *are* interested in a subject never have their love of learning contaminated by boredom or hatred of a particular subject!)
