While in theory I agree with you & even with Lady Catherine(!), I think it's worthwhile to examine the results of their two different styles. The Bennet's have two or we might even say three well read daughters with a modicum of accomplishments. Lady Catherine's one daughter, who could have had the benefit of all possible training, has no skills whatsoever, & can't even make conversation. Lady Catherine herself, in spite of her self proclaimed musical aptitude, & her early advantages doesn't play (or I'd bet we'd hear her!). I grant you, Miss de Bourgh might be considered to have been limited by her ill health from some skills acquisition, but let's face it, drawing & sitting at a piano are not Olympic events requiring huge amounts of stamina & drive.
So 'd say it's Bennets 50%, de Bourgh--100% failure.
