I've always wondered, when Darcy meets Wickham in Meryton:
'And Elizabeth. . . was all astonishment at the effect of the meeting. Both changed colour, one looked white, the other red.'
Is it Darcy who is white with shock at seeing Wickham, or red with anger, or is it Wickham who is red with embarrassment (although Wickham doesn't seem very contrite about his actions at any point in the novel . . . )
