can find a way to keep Charlotte as someone she can to talk to. They may never have talked about 'everything', but we are told early on that Charlotte was "Elizabeth's intimate friend" so I would hope that any awkwardness between them would be temporary. I hope Lizzy is as fortunate as I am in some of my 'intimate friends' and family. (I don't think it's only about what type of person we are...it's also very much about what type of person the friend is.) Charlotte may indeed choose very differently for her own life, yet still be understanding and nonjudgmental about Elizabeth's choices...as Elizabeth and Jane are with one another. Hopefully Elizabeth can return the favor toward Charlotte, as well....offer friendship without judgment. I hope the 'intimate friendship', though changed by one friend entering married life and having other obligations, is not lost. (It can happen...Miss Taylor and Emma, for example. They too differ in some of their personal choices and behaviors and must adjust to an altered relationship with one another.) I hate to see a relationship lost just because two people choose part of life differently from one another.
