I'm not so sure   Written by Nancy Ann (4/24/2010 11:41 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Well, if you were Lizzy..., penned by Connie
Are you new?

that the only reason for sharing one's feelings and dilemmas is to get advice. In fact, very often it's those who don't give advice that many people feel 'safer' going to! Sharing seems to me to be more about airing, venting, expressing oneself in a 'safe' environment. I'm not sure that Charlotte would have no more to give Lizzy on that companionable plane, even if her own reality takes her in another direction than Lizzy would choose. I have friends who differ from me on subjects, even very dear subjects...their different perspective can sometimes be very helpful, in fact! If Lizzy feels that Charlotte is no longer caring, then I could see withdrawal from sharing feelings. I like to hope, for both their sakes, that this period of awkwardness does not destroy the special friendship.
