of marrying Charlotte to Mr C in order to just save Lizzy from the same lot. She rejected him and had her father's support, so that's all over.


All she suffers is her mother's attacks but they can't force her, firstly, and are not stopped by the tidings of Charlotte's engagement, secondly :) So it is no matter of consequence for Lizzy if Charlotte does or does not marry Mr Collins, except her disapprobation of the friend's choice.
