If Caroline does think he is a fine catch, and nice too look at, to boot, I do not think she sees much deeper. She misses that Darcy is a moral man, that he likes wit, even if he is its target, and that he prefers an open temper to one that never takes chances, or reveals its owner's self.

The most I would say for her loving Darcy, is that she might love the man she thinks he is. She is so obviously written as missing the actual man, though, that for all her elegance, I can not root for her to succeed with him.
