did they not? Mr Bennet didn't attend, and there is no indication that any other man joined them. And Mr Collins accompanied the Bennet daughters to the evening party at their Aunt & Uncle's house.

(Also, in Emma, Emma travels to the Ball at the Crown Inn unaccompanied.)
