An Exemption   Written by Robbin (4/23/2010 2:02 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Interesting comparison Charlotte to Mr. Bennet, penned by Karen G
Are you new?

Nice point Karen G! To me Mr. Bennet sounds like he is exempting himself from making the mistake of choosing an unequal partner. Perhaps it is a clue to the beginnings of his marriage. It is easy to see his comparison between Lizzy and Charlotte but I wonder if in saying Charlotte is as foolish as his wife he is implying she somehow or other chose him—drawing him in so to speak like Charlotte did Mr. Collins? (:D)
