According to Shapard's The Annotated Pride and Prejudice, (Pheasant Books, 2003, p. 125): "The names of those presented were on a Court List which would be published and accessible to curious members of the public".

I would imagine that Mrs. Bennet is probably trying to display her knowledge of fashionable, high society here.
