Ch 14: "the ladies at court"   Written by Kathryn Ann (4/23/2010 9:19 a.m.)
Are you new?

After dinner, when Mr. Bennet thought it time to have some conversation with his guest, Mr. Collins, we hear his raptures over Anne de Bourgh. Mrs. Bennet proclaims: "Has she been presented? I do not remember her name among the ladies at court."

My question is (and forgive my ignorance): Is the listing of the ladies at court, or presented at court, published? It makes me think of the Navy Lists in Persuasion. Would people have stayed up on things such as who was at court? Would Mrs. Bennet?
