few of us who do not cherish a feeling of self-complacency   Written by Stephanie (4/22/2010 10:10 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, to clarify, penned by Andrea ML
Are you new?

I also thought it was interesting coming from Mary, who seems to have quite a bit of self complacency on several scores, some of them imaginary. Her musical talent is held in both great pride and vanity by herself, for instance, and her erudition (she "piqued herself upon the solidity of her reflections"), whereas I think Elizabeth and possibly Jane had more sense from their reading habits than she.

But, yes, she is right often enough. Annoying, is it not?
