The 'gossip' pursuits are just endless, it seems! It does make me wonder sometimes why these people don't just 'get a life'!! But I guess the answer is that gossip IS the life of many of them (as opposed to reading, for example, or pursing some other skill or focus outside themselves!) I'm afraid I'd be getting so, so bored or frustrated if I had to live with Kitty, Lydia, Mrs. B and their friends!
