Charlotte, no guiding hand for Mr Collins, but for their children   Written by Benedicte (4/21/2010 5:55 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Elizabeth "shooting from the hip" over Charlotte.., penned by jeffrey
Are you new?

Stephanie writes that if Charlotte "wants to be of extreme importance in someone's life, and be the invisible guiding hand, marriage to Mr. Collins is suddenly a good idea..."

I cannot wholly agree with you because the only guiding hand acceptable for Mr Collins is Lady Catherine's as in another discussion someone pointed out (his duty is 1st to Lady C, then the archbishop, and finally... if there is some time left for God).
However, she may well expect to have the high hand over her children's education, and then have an opportunity to shape their minds in the right direction
