Charlotte: I am not romantic, you know   Written by OlgaI (4/21/2010 4:24 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, I fancy she was wanted about the mince-pies., penned by Stephanie
Are you new?

I am with Jeffrey and you all in that Charlotte has a chance to be quite happy in her married life, granted that her happiness is not romantic extasy but comfort and business. She seems very down-to-earth person to me and very capable, too.

If one compare the options before her:
1) stay unmarried and cope with whims of her family (no much brighter than Mr Collins), having no home and no children with 100% guaranty,
2) marry to Mr Collins and have a life and family of her own,

I can't blame her for choosing Mr Collins. He IS stupid and pompous but Charlotte has got quite used to those qualities in her home and know how to deal with them. And, having no romantic expectations and no rational hope of something better to come, she makes limonade of the lemon...
