Unwilling conversation at Netherfield Ball?   Written by Adrian (4/20/2010 12:09 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Darcy, the Conversationalist -- Week 2, penned by gianni

I realize that Lizzy started the conversation while she and Darcy danced, but we know Darcy desired conversation at the Lucas party and (except for the final day) spent considerable time conversing with Lizzy during Jane's illness at Netherfield. So Darcy may well have been waiting (hoping?) for Lizzy to take the initiative, letting her decide.
