a person more capable of giving you certain information   Written by Stephanie (4/19/2010 10:12 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I was fooled the first time, too. (nfm), penned by gianni
Are you new?

I think this is one point where P&P3, with all its beauty and sweeping emotions, fell flat on its fanny. Wickham presenting his history comes off as a callow youth, self-centered, with a chip on his shoulder, and hardly interested in Elizabeth's attractions. Elizabeth is scripted to react with all the shock and anger that the novel's scene portrays, but it really is not justified by Wickham's lines or delivery.

I sometimes wonder how anyone not familiar with the plot would feel watching the scene - do they feel the outrage and sympathy they are supposed to?
