So, into the second week of my very first focus.

Chapter 15 -- In Meryton, meeting Wickham

Chapter 18 -- Netherfield ball
Darcy asks Lizzy to dance; she's surprised into accepting. He immediately walks away.
They dance; she drags him unwillingly into a brief conversation. She provokes him into silence with a couple of allusions to Wickham.
Sir William interrupts; reveals the Bingley-Jane romance to Darcy.
Darcy tries to converse (trying books); Lizzy pulls it toward Darcy's character; all attempts have ended in failure to converse.
We learn from Caroline (and Bingley via Jane) that Darcy's closest friends don't know why Darcy and Wickham are at odds. They believe Wickham is at fault.
Darcy rebuffs Collins's advances with a few words (he's too stupid to know he's been rebuffed!). The Bennets make a miserable, disgusting spectacle of themselves, incurring Darcy's disdain and Lizzy's shame (Jane is apparently too involved with Bingley to notice most of it). Lizzy tries without success to make them behave less foolishly.
No more talk mentioned, though it's not unreasonable to infer short communications with his friends in spite of his "silent gravity".
