Very good, Robbin, but...   Written by gianni (4/19/2010 6:43 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Over the Top Games, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

...just as, earlier, I had to disagree with another that Mrs. Bennet's silliness was exclusive to, or even derived from, her obsessive will to get her daughters established, I have to disagree that Lydia cared at all about his attention.

We're told repeatedly that her mother supplied her with an abundance (overabundance?) of attention, and that she simply never listened to anything she didn't want to hear.

I can, however, go along with the idea that he might have made it worse with his misbehavior, and I firmly believe that just a little proper paternal attention would have helped her a lot.

Just as a little proper spousal attention would have helped Mrs. Bennet a lot.
