Mr Collins at school   Written by Kathleen Glancy (4/19/2010 10:05 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, I too noticed that passage for probably the first time in my, penned by AnnetteJ
Are you new?

would probably have been that boy who ingratiates himself with the biggest bully in the class and heaps praise on him whenever he beats up another child. Nobody would like him much, not even the bully really. But as he got that way because of a miserable childhood (he seems to have lost his mother young and to be an only child) you do have to feel some pity for him. I have the same kind of sneaking pity for the spoilt brat Lydia - it is not really her fault that one parent indulges her and the other notices her only to deride her.
