The thing is, though, that IMO JA expected her *real* heroes to be above generalizations like that (I'm not just going by P&P here). Also, this is IMO Darcy's very first attempt at something like flirtation with Elizabeth. If they knew each other better, it might work, but as it is, it just comes across as criticism and falls flat.
