The "real" Bingley   Written by Line (4/17/2010 9:38 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Too true!, penned by Elbč
Are you new?

Ŕs you point out, the Bingley of the *novel* not only teases his sister, but actually dares to tease Darcy, too! In ch.10, he tells Elizabeth he wouldn`t pay Darcy so much deference if he weren`t such a "great, tall fellow", etc. This shows a much more equal relationship between them than we see in most of the adaptations.
