I wonder   Written by Laraine (4/17/2010 4:50 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mrs. Bennet's emotional age, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

I agree that it's childish--but is it possible that this is meant to show that Mrs. Bennet can be playful with children (it might even be a reason that her older children have affection for her, despite her faults)? I can imagine an argument that went "I would too!--You would not!" being fairly amusing to a child, in that it would be a matter of how long he could persist than whether he would it.

Just a thought :)
