Nitpick   Written by Stephanie (4/17/2010 12:13 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Darcy, the Conversationalist --2 (Long), penned by gianni (moved by moderator)

I doubt Darcy was trying to get Elizabeth to dance. The two of them dancing a reel alone in a drawing room would not have suited Darcy's ideas of societal intercourse. He was trying to meet Elizabeth on conversational grounds (and about time!) but I doubt he meant it as a serious invitation.
