First in chapter 8 she makes fun of Lizzy for reading, then she tells Darcy how much she loves the library at Pemberley & is embarrassed by the paltry library of her brother and then she doesn't put reading on her list of an accomplished woman. She doesn't know whether she's coming or going! No wonder Darcy is drawn to Lizzy at this point - at least she's fairly consistent with her views of what she likes and doesn't like!
