at a similiar ball. Knightly may have had definite opinions on Harriet Smith's social standing but when she was snubbed by Mr Elton, Knightly stepped up and asked her to dance. At the P&P ball, Darcy is acting like Mr Elton -- too good to dance with these bumpkins. Such rudeness in real life has caused many a girl to flee in tears to the ladies room. At least Lizzy overcame some natural hurt to make fun of Darcy.
