Good point   Written by Nancy Ann (4/14/2010 9:37 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, I Agree, penned by Lenora
Are you new?

So was I...and boy, we definitely helped mold each other during that 26 years together...'for better and for worse', I'm sure--- esp. at different periods of time! Who's to say what marriages are really 'successful'? Even Lizzy might have missed some clues there, esp. as a young and unmarried woman herself yet. The Bennets were living at a time when other 'measures' were also a big part of 'success' in marriage. One needn't be a Gardiner to be in a decent marriage, by some standards. And people get to choose their own standards some too, which needn't be subject to what someone else wants. I think that for all their sharpness with one another, for instance, the two Bennets basically enjoyed a lot of their lives....each in their own ways. And who knows what happened 10 years ago with them?
